The LFG software development kit provides support for several operating systems via an identical API, including: Windows 98/NT/2000/XP, DOS and Linux plus QNX, VxWorks and Mac OS X. The SDK also includes royalty free JPEG and wavelet compression, various pixel mappings, image display and support for the major image file formats. Standard drivers include Twain, Video for Windows, NetMeeting and Common Vision Blox.

It also includes a highly optimised JPEG and wavelet codec. It is bundled with some hardware products but may also be licensed separately.
